Color Dice: Part 1

In 2007 or 2008, I developed a color magic system that I intended to use both in real life and in stories I planned to write. The stories are still on hold because some stories end up being more complicated than you expect. But I did end up using the system in real life.

13 of the 16 colors are based on my perception of the energy centers in my body. That was influenced heavily by learning the "rainbow chakra" method first; I now know that paradigm is a New Age thing and not representative of the cultures the New Agers were pulling ideas from, but it's still how I see those 7 centers. For the other 6 centers, I used other colors that I thought made sense in context. This was prior to the development of the Progress Pride flag as far as I know and the flag wasn't an influence, but it's a lot of the same colors. And the last 3 colors, those that don't correspond to a center, filled in logical gaps: the everything, the nothing, and that which connects everything.

The meanings of the centers are universal enough and broad enough when looked at as a whole, that I'm confident the dice divination system I created using these colors is suitable to read for others. But energy bodies have some variation and I don't assume the energy body model I use for myself is going to work for others. I also think it's great if others decide to put together their own system based on their own associations.

This series of posts will walk you through the details of my color system, how I read with my color dice, and how you can make your own system based on colors, shapes, sounds, or other concepts.
